Paint: In Primer
I went back to RUQ to check on the plane two weeks after I dropped it off. It's good to see things progressing, but at the same time it's a little hard to see everything apart...and green. It reminded me of the saying about sausage being made.
Anyway, here it is after one coat of primer. The light colored stripes are filler over the rivets. I didn't realize this was going to be done, and I'll probably catch some sh*t for it from some other RVers, but oh well. I bet it will look pretty when it's finished. The gear leg fairings are still on. They weren't sure how they came off (more hinge pins!), and said they could be finished in place. We'll see.

I found the trailing edges of the wings & empennage were taped off. They were going to leave the grey primer on those, fearing the new paint may not stick. I asked them to paint those areas like everything else. Worse case, if the paint pops off a rivet tail, it'll be hidden.

Control surfaces are getting the same treatment.

Canopy, cowling and various fairings waiting for more prep.
