Dynon Update

February 17, 2007 7:59 PM

While down to fix a leaking magneto gasket, I updated the software on the Dynon D10A to v2.19. This enabled the Dynon to speak to the SL-30 and Garmin 396. I had to add an ON-OFF-ON switch to the panel (yet to be labeled), to toggle between the two as well as the compass/update mode. The hardest part was running the new wires in the already-completed panel, but the reaching through the GPS hole and the access panels made it pretty easy.

Cool stuff. Keep up the good work Dynon.

2/21 UPDATE: During the post installation test flight, I noticed that the GPS HSI screen always showed a heading of 360 and an altitude of zero. To fix this I had to change the NMEA output from the GPS from FAST to NORMAL on the Advance NMEA Output Setup page. This allowed it output all the data that the Dynon was expecting. Problem solved. Thanks to Ken H. and Dynon's tech support for helping me with this.
